Staging the EIA process

The environmental impact assessment applies to

• buildings, facilities, activities and technologies defined in Annex 1 to EIA ACT,
• changes of projects according to the previous point if they meet the parameters according to Annex 1 to EIA ACT,
• projects that do not reach the parameters defined in Annex 1 to EIA ACT, as determined by the competent authority in the inquiry procedure (the so-called below-limit projects)
• projects for which the nature conservation authority did not exclude a significant negative impact on the Natura 2000 system (see Chapter 10).

The EIA process can be briefly described using the following sequence:

• Notification,
• Fact-Finding Procedure,
• EIA report,
• Expert Review,
• Public Hearing,
• Statement on EIA
